Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am a second-year sociology student at queens university. I am enrolled in all sociology courses and want to graduate in May 2025. I have been on the wait list for SOCY 235 for many weeks in my 1st-place position. After consulting with the sociology department, I was told I would be added to the class as I was in the first position on the waitlist. I have been attending all the lectures for SOCY 235 and thought i was going to be accepted into the course. But unfortunately, I am still on the waitlist, and SOCY 235 is closed. I then sent in an appeal and got denied and was told if there was another open sociology course, open i could request an appeal.

SOCY 276 is open and has space in the class. I want to graduate on time and need this toward my degree. If I could be allowed into SOCY 276, I would greatly appreciate it. I am determined to excel in this course and enjoy the material.
