Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I am requesting to be added to these history seminars beyond the due date because I was only just notified too late that I do not have enough credits to graduate. I'm unsure of the reason as I have done my best to fulfill my degree requirements up until this point, but I suspect it may have something to do with my mental health crisis that started in first year and carried on to second year through the pandemic, but now I am more level headed and ready to make up the credits I require for my degree. I am highly motivated to graduate this semester and am willing to do any catch up work necessary for these classes. I will drop my history lectures if I get accepted to these courses and will be able to keep up with the work load. I'm originally from Mississauga and do not have anywhere to live next semester in Kingston. I thought I was graduating this semester so the lease on my house has been turned over to someone else for the next school year already. If I'm unable to complete my requirements this semester, I won't be able to return to Queen's as I'll have nowhere to live. I hope my appeal is considered seriously and I look forward to hearing back.

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: If accepted into these classes I will be dropping my two history lectures, HIST 223 and HIST 210 in order to focus on the seminars I need. I will do any catch up work needed diligently and have everything in on time. The workload will not be overwhelming as I won't have as many lectures to attend and will be able to focus primarily on my readings. I am a hard worker and the two extra seminars will not impact my ability to do well in them.
