Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean,
At the beginning of 2022, I struggled in school as I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and was also in an abusive relationship. This was an extremely hard time for me because I was all alone. I had to submit an appeal since I was required to withdraw for a year and it was granted. During the summertime, I got my BPD diagnosis and went to therapy, aswell as talked to Barb Lotan, Sexual Violence Prevention & Response Coordinator about the situation. I had taken two summer courses but was unable to give them my full attention. I had gone back to Pakistan to get better and be closer to my family, therefore, it was hard to stay connected because of the time difference and the flooding during monsoon season resulted in a power outage most times. These two courses are affecting my GPA extremely badly. I am now working hard to complete my degree and I can assure you I will be on track if these courses were dropped. I am also going to be taking one of them again this summer because I have learned how to organize my time well and will be in Canada. I have a weekly meeting with a therapist and meet with my QSAS advisor to help reach my goal in an easier way. I hope you can consider dropping these two courses as now I am a devoted student and will try my absolute best to obtain a good GPA.
