Petition Letter: Dear, whomever it may concern,
My request is to drop COMM 621 and take CISC 271 instead. My degree plan (AI stream in Computing) was recently updated in the past few days to now highly recommend CISC 271 and added it as a prerequisite to CISC 473, which I plan on taking. Before now, I didn't think about how important CISC 271 is to a successful career in the AI field. I also recently received an internship offer for the summer that mentioned studying concepts like MatLab before starting the position. CISC 271 covers all of the topics I would have needed to otherwise learn on my own. Thanks to my friend who is in the class, I have already started reviewing the first three weeks of content, so I will not be too far behind and still be able to succeed academically in the course. Finally, since I am only in third year and COMM 621 is the last course I need to complete my Business Certificate, this change will not affect my graduation plan for my Bachelor of Computing or my Business Certificate.
I understand the financial penalty for this late decision and would still like to continue with the process.

Academic Plan: My request will not affect my academic plan. CISC 271 can count as an elective toward my degree, and I can take COMM 621 anytime in the summer or during fourth year.
