Petition Letter
Petition Letter: My name is Peyton and I??m a fourth year Commerce student here at Queen??s. I had initially enrolled on the waitlist for ENIN 240, but by the time it had reached 11:55 PM on January 20 (the add/drop date), I had only made it to 4th place. As I needed this last course to satisfy degree requirements, I had to be safe and unenroll from this waitlist, and enroll in another backup course that I had, PHARM 100. I truly enjoy the ENIN courses ?? having taken 140 two summers ago and 301 last semester, I have loved the content of these classes and how it has allowed me to mesh my creativity with the skills I have gained in my business classes within Commerce. With this, I was heartbroken to have to step out of the waitlist for ENIN 240, and have since been in contact with both my academic advisors within Commerce and the ENIN 240 Professor, Chipewyan McCrimmon, to see if I would be able to join the course in some exception. I was only made aware of the appeal process in relation to this sort of query today from the ENIN 240 Professor. Directly after receiving the email, I set out to complete this appeal in hopes that I will finally be allowed to take this course (before I graduate).
My additional fervour behind why I want to be in this course is because it directly correlates to the work that I want to do post-grad. As it is my final semester here at Queen's, I want to be able to experience this type of course which I love. I know that the usual hindrance to adding a course this late is that student's may never catch up, but I know that considering my work ethic and the success I have found in the commerce program proves my ability to not only catch up in the course, but (hopefully) excel in it as well.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: Should this appeal be granted, I will need to swap it for the current PHAR100 course I am currently taking, to ensure that I am maxing out at 6 courses. If necessary, I can meet with an academic advisor monthly to ensure I am staying on track. I know that I will be successful in completing and meeting the needs of this course. If I could include my transcript I would, to show my previous success with staying on top of courses. I am confident that swapping into ENIN 240 will only decrease my stress as I will be studying a topic which I greatly enjoy and am relatively familiar with (in terms of the area of study, not the specific course concepts).
