Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: This year I was given the chance to redeem myself academically as I was granted the chance to not be withdrawn. My second year grades have improved tremendously. I am writing this letter to you to appeal Three grades that appear on my transcript for my second year. In summer I had enrolled in RELS 131 and talking to an academic advisor we thought it would be best to drop the course and get myself prepared for my second year rather than being rushed into a course since I didn??t end my first year well. I don??t know why I would have an f on my transcript if I dropped it. I dropped the course after the deadline as the class was already paid for, I want to appeal the grade as I didn??t even do any school work for the class and being that I didn??t do the work I wasn??t even given the chance to try and show that I should be back at queens for the second year. This September I took 4 courses as I want things to be easier for me to handle so I can really apply myself academically. In my Empr 100 and Empr 210 I have F credits as I didn??t do the exam due to death within my family. If you reach out to the profs they can also show you the emails I sent in asking to defer my exam, they wanted proof of death which was given and I still didn??t write the exam leading it to be an F. I understand it was my responsibility to do more in finding out more information about deferred exams. I was rushed home by my parents as it was extremely important at the time that I be home due to this death. If you look at my transcript you see that besides these F??s I did well last term and I deserve to be given the chance to show you guys again as you granted me the appeal of not withdrawing. This year has never been better and I really found a way to apply myself academically, with these F I??m going to be forced to withdraw again which I don??t want to do whatsoever, I want to head into exams strong and end the year feeling confident for my third year. Please give me the full chance to show you guys that I completely redeem myself and why I deserve to be a queens student. Give me the chance to show you my potential and end the year strong and proud. I love queens and the improvement I have had this year is beyond amazing, I have worked so hard this year and I don??t want it to not be seen. Please take into consideration and really examine my potential as to why I deserve to be here.
