Petition Letter: Dear who this may concern,
I am requesting to drop the course Chem 222, Meth structure and determination. I understand that it is past the drop date, and I am very apologetic for the inconvenience. This past year I have been struggling with my mental health significantly. I have recently received accommodations with QSAS to compensate for this. I have been struggling with anxiety disorder and started a new medication on February 20th. The specific medications had many side effects associated with them for a couple of weeks, including an increase in anxiety. During this time I was unable to get out of bed, eat, or engage in any socialization. This was a very difficult time for me which did not allow me to complete my course work successfully, or drop the course before the required date.
Thankfully, I have been doing much better the past 2 weeks and have had the ability to work very hard in order to catch up on my classes. However, CHEM 222 is one which I have been struggling with; regardless of my efforts to catch up. I value my studies heavily and strive to be academically successful, however, I do not believe I will receive a grade which reflects who I am as a student if I remain in the course. I hope this is understandable, and I can use this time to focus on my other 4 courses.
Warm regards,
Sanae Reign
