Petition Letter
Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
I am writing to petition to drop 2 courses (CLST 303, CLST 306) past the drop deadline. As it is my first semester back following the passing of my father, I was overconfident in my ability to pick back up where I left off. When I noticed I was struggling earlier in the semester, I was able to drop 3 of the 5 courses I had initially signed up for, anticipating that I would then be able to successfully complete the final two courses. However, I was unable to complete them, as I was still struggling with the extenuating circumstances. I have since been in contact with QSAS and registered with them, as well as a counselor from student wellness services. I have also been in contact with a tutor, to schedule meetings so I can refresh my knowledge of what I previously learned. If I am able to drop the two courses from this semester, given the supports I have set up for the summer semester, I am confident that I will be able to move forward with success.
