Petition Letter: To Queen??s University Appeals Office

I am appealing to drop several failed and several ongoing classes due to circumstances outside of my control. I understand that this will have a setback on the timeline I was aiming to complete my studies but I believe I will have a better time going forward. I have met with Jenna Kring who advised me to pursue this path, she was also able to connect me with Gail Motut who was able to provide me with other support and suggested I meet with the OSAP advisor Angela Street. I met with them over the month of March and we have made the plan that this is the best course of action going forward. I have follow-up meetings as well later in April.
The class I am petitioning to drop in the Summer 2022 Term is Ancient Humour 205. I passed other classes that term but failed that one. I had and then recovered from Surgery during that period. The classes I am petitioning to drop from the Fall 2022 term are Art, Society and Culture 250 and Contemporary China 270. I fell ill during the November period that left me very weak and tired during this period. I could not put my time or energy into each of my classes. The classes I am looking to drop during the Winter 2023 Term are Social History Popular Music 171, Unions and Labour Relations 200 and Acting Globally 101. I was laid off in the January, got pneumonia in January and covid in February and was told in March I would have to have another surgery, the exact date I am still waiting on. After speaking to Jenna about my current situation she advised me that this was the best course of action.
I hope the Office will approve this request given the ongoing and unexpected issues I have faced. I have provided the supporting documents for the issues mentioned above.
