Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Hello,

I am writing this because of family issues I had to deal with back in November of 2022. My mother was extremely sick and I had to fly back to Vancouver to be with her in the hospital. I had to defer my exams and I completed one of them however, I was sick during the exam for Chem 281. I was told I would be able to do the exam at the next examination period and I had thought that would be during the winter examination period. I have reached out to my professor and found out that the only exam will be held during June. Since this is an in person exam I would have to fly back to Kingston to write it and unfortunately my financial situation makes it nearly impossible to fly roundtrip to complete this exam. I am hoping that due to this situation the course can be dropped so that it doesn't effect my academic standing.

Please let me know if this is at all possible.
