Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Hello,
I am writing this to explain and outline why I am petitioning to drop these two courses. Over the past few years, I have been experiencing some quite serious extenuating circumstances. I was diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder in 2021, and since then have often needed extra accommodation in order to receive the grades I desire. In the fall of 2021, I was lucky to receive permanent accommodation from QSAS. That has helped me a lot up until this point; however, this semester, there have been added circumstances, such as ill family members, increased anxiety/depression, etc, that have made completing all of my courses an unrealistic milestone.
I have been in psychological therapy on and off since the beginning of 2021 and can get you a doctor's not if necessary. I have worked things out with my other professors and will be able to complete my other two courses with a decent enough grade, but I cannot justify asking these professors to allow me to complete pretty much a whole course starting now.
I ask that you please consider my request and do everything you can to see that it gets approved, as I do always try my best to achieve the best grades I possibly can. This is very upsetting to me as I have always been able to work things out with my professors and been able to complete all my courses. This is the first time anything like this has happened to me.
Best,
Jake
