Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean,

I am petitioning you for Aegrotat (AG) standing for my ANAT 215 and ANAT 216 courses. Due to physical illness, I was unable to complete the exams for these two courses. My physical illness affected me on the days of these exams in April 11th and 12th, 2023. My ANAT 215 exam was deferred from December 2022. The instructor informed me that it was not possible to reschedule the exams. My other courses were not impacted by my extenuating circumstances because I did not suffer from physical illness during exams or major assignments, and because the instructors were more than kind to offer extensions or rescheduling after providing supporting documentation for physical illness. My family doctor prescribed me medications which I am taking and my condition is improving. I am now on course to complete all of my other courses this semester.

I have completed 70% of the course assessments for ANAT 215 with a mark of 60.6/70 (86.6%), which would give me an Aegrotat (AG) standing of A, and completed 65% of ANAT 216 assessments with a mark of 62.4/65 (96%) which would give me an Aegrotat (AG) standing of A+. I reached out to the instructor who said that he would support my Aegrotat (AG) standing but that he would have to answer no to completing the learning outcomes, because the exams that I did not complete were practical exams. However, I did complete and pass the ANAT 215 midterm practical exam which covered the exact same learning outcomes of the final exams for ANAT 215 and ANAT 216.

Dear Associate Dean, I am hoping that this shows that I fulfilled the learning outcomes, and that along with my extenuating circumstances, documentation, and why only these courses were impacted by my extenuating circumstances, will get my petition for Aegrotat (AG) standing approved by you.

Kind Regards,
Issamedin Dahlan
