Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern,

I am requesting that an assignment be graded that was not submitted for the deadline it was due. I completed this assignment before the date, and can provide proof that it has not been edited at all since before the deadline. However, I did not submit the assignment and did not realize I had done this until after grading had already been submitted for the course.

I have a one-year old daughter that I care for on my own. Around the time that the assignment was due, she was very ill. I had to take her to the hospital to be checked out. My stress levels were very high at the time and this caused me to become forgetful and I had assumed that I had submitted that assignment when I finished it even though I had not.

I know these circumstances are partly my own fault, but I have never forgotten to submit an assignment in this manner before. I worked very hard on this particular assignment and I am hoping that I can be granted the opportunity to have it graded.
