Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean,
I am writing to you to appeal for a late course drop for the class ENGL 491 002: Topics in Lit Interpretation I: Humans (and Other Animals) from the 2022's Fall semester. During that period of time, I was experiencing a lot of distress and was not able to attend the majority of the classes or finish most of the assignments. I did reach out to the professor early on and throughout the year to let him know of the difficulties I have been experiencing - this was done via email. The reason why I did not drop out of the class before the deadline was that I had thought I could still manage my condition throughout the year and handle the stress but that did not end up being the case as the semester came to an end. I have been in contact with my doctor since then to discuss plans of support and attached will be a recent Verification of Confidential Extenuating Circumstance form that I had my doctor fill out as I have periods where I relapse and the condition worsens. Although the date of onset in the form refers to my recent relapse, please note the severity checked in the form. I have also filed a new application for QSAS to have support when I return to school, but now that this school year has ended I will take some time to mentally recover and better myself. I hope that you can take my circumstances into consideration when looking into my appeal, thank you.
