Petition Letter: Hello,
This is Baibing Liang, student number 20145250. I am an international student requesting to waive the petition deadline.
I am an international student who just got back from Canada on April 22nd by a 15-hour flight, then travelled to my hometown on April 24th and experienced a 12-hour time difference. After dealing with jetlag, I had surgery in the past few days, starting from May 4th, which prevented me from adding courses for the summer term in 2023 before the deadline. I am spending time in the hospital for more than three days because of the surgery. As stated above that I am an international student. I am outside Canada, and loading a Canadian school's web pages requires fast internet. However, the internet connection in that hospital is not good, and the pages would not load. These problems affected my performance in adding the course before the deadline.
Successful waive of petition deadline is really important to me, as it will affect my future study and career plans. I am planning to do a Master's degree after graduation, and most applications will need a minimum GPA of 3.0. However, my GPA is low, and I wish to improve in the summer. I am going to go on an exchange in Fall 2023, which means that I cannot take courses at Queen's University, and the grades of the exchange semester will not be counted toward my GPA. Therefore, this summer term is the only term I can take courses at school to improve my GPA. Additionally, I will need a Master's degree to be hired by my desired company or to find a job in my country. To avoid late enrollment happening next time, I will acknowledge the deadlines and start adding courses before that.
Thank you for your time, and wish you have a great day
Sincerely,
Baibing Liang
