Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am writing to request that PSYC 100 course mark be dropped from my transcript. I have had a very challenging year due to multiple illnesses that greatly impacted my attendance in the daily labs and the two peer review assignments. I provided three doctors notes and submitted a verification of personal health condition form which was asked of me to receive accommodations. In class weekly labs and two peer review assignments which made up 30% of my overall mark was greatly impacted and received only 3.5/10 on the daily labs and 0/20 on the peer reviews because I could not attend school. I was also given conflicting information and thought I would have the final exam weighted more heavily to incorporate the two peer reviews I missed due to illness. I was successful on the spring exam but later found out that a TA can not give authority to change the weighting which would have allowed me to pass the course. I therefore had extenuating circumstances, having extreme illness for an extended period of time which was beyond my control and directly affected my academic performance.
