Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Dear Dean of Academics,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to you as a student in POLS 262 taught by Dr. Andrew Grant during the winter 2023 term. I am seeking a formal review of my recent exam results. I was able to meet with the TA Anthony O??Donnell and review the exam with the exam answers. I was not happy with the answers that the Tas were given for some questions on the exam as they were very narrow-minded with super broad questions. Most of this appeal is coming from memory as I was not allowed to take any pictures or I am confident that a revaluation will provide a fair and accurate assessment of my performance on this exam. I have several questions I request a review.
1. Concern with the question regarding the Kimberly Processes Certification. In my answer, I outline exactly step by step how the process is evaluated at each different level of transportation. I discuss how they carry their objective out by holding high standards and if a country apart of the international treaty does not uphold to their process, they are to be not a part of the process anymore. I also explain how conflict diamonds are illegally minded diamonds that rebel groups try to sell to get money. This answer was overlooked and not given the full marks it should have been given.
2. The answer to the question about HIV Angola AIDs. I feel that my answer to this question was overlooked as I was using the answer for the question from the video that this question related to. The main reason that there was not many AID crisis in Angola was because of the civil war. As the army was focused on fighting on the borders of the country the crisis was not brought into the centre of the country. Where the majority of the population is.
3. The last question on the exam that I feel did not get enough look as it talked about how stable the international monetary regime. This answer the professor was looking for was just solely focused on the Bretton Woods conference. There were other examples I included such as it can bring a state to become more together as they are forced to work together. It can also help prevent war as countries are trying to work toward a way for tied aid and other intentional money-borrowing examples.
Thank you for taking the time to read over my appeal. I am looking forward to hear your response. This was an exam that I wrote in April and I do not have direct access at this moment to review.
