Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
I am writing this letter as a request to drop CLST 205 from my timetable because I had unforeseen surgery that I was not prepared for, and the rearranging of my home life, work life, and academic life took a hit. During the week of May 26th, I had a varicose vein burst in my leg and had surgery to remove it and a few other veins on June 2nd. This is 12 weeks after a previous surgery for the same thing on a different leg. That week I had multiple things due. However, they had to take a back seat as I needed to find care for my children and coverage for my job after the surgery. I applied for academic consideration to catch up on anything I missed. However, I had a horrible reaction to the anesthetic and had to visit the doctor’s office three times. – June 6th June 12th and June 13th. During that time, I could catch up in my other classes as I signed up for six classes over the summer; however, if I had known that this would happen, I wouldn’t have taken as many. I am only now feeling well enough to put 100% back into my studies. While I did apply for academic consideration, I do not feel that the quality of the work I will be able to submit is reflective of the student I am. I would appreciate your consideration in this matter, and if you require anything else, I am happy to provide more information.
Thank you for your time.
