Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Zhenying, Tong, majoring in APEC.

I took the ECON 452 in Fall 2022. My professor is Christopher Ferrell. The course’s final grade is solely based on the final project. I partnered with Yawen, Sun to finish my project.

We started the project well ahead of time. However, as we approach the deadline/submission date. She started to show some procrastination. As I tried to contact her, she told me that she already received the long-term consideration. I had no idea with what’s the reason behind that. She did not tell me either; therefore, I chose to respect her privacy and not ask that.

After received long-term consider, we got in touch with our professor. We were informed that the deadline for us to submit is by the end of the Winter 2023.

After we got back to school, I tried to contact her to see if she’s getting better. She did not respond me. Therefore, I made the assumption that she might need more time to recover. She did not respond me until April. As we tried to start the work again, we were able to continue our work and made some progress.

However, she did not respond me or made any progress to the project again at some points in April. Due to the nature of the project and how we split the project, it can be hard for me to finish it by myself.

The last phone call, I had with her, she told me that she could not stop coughing. In addition, based on her voice, I did somehow believe that she’s somehow sick. After that phone call, I texted her, there’s no response after that.

I have attended one of the drop-in academic advising session that I was advised to contact her again. However, I still did not receive any response.

Therefore, I would like to ask if I can be refunded for that course so that I can enroll again into ECON 452 again or open to any other options. One reason is that the course is not cheap and this is one thing that out of my control.
