Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
My name is Grace Adams, I am going to be beginning my third year at Queen's this fall. I am writing this letter concerning a course that I would like to drop, DEVS 220.
I have been enjoying the course so far, the content is very interesting and I find it to be quite eye opening. I have been putting forth a consistent effort towards my studies, although an abundance of mental health issues have been thrown my way over the past month or so. This began to impact my energy levels, motivation, time management, and all around my regular habits and behaviors as a student shifted.
I have put forth as much time and energy as I possibly can toward DEVS 220, although my grades have not been reflective of that. Whether that be because of needing a few extra days to complete something, doing an assignment but not properly aligning with my instructor's expectations, etc.,
After some conversations with my family, we have decided that it will be best for me to drop DEVS 220, and moving forward to perhaps consider taking on a lighter course load. We have also decided that I am going to seek psychotherapy in regards to all previously mentioned info. I am also going to make an appointment with my family doctor to speak about the dose of medication I am currently on, and if my plan should be adjusted accordingly to what I have been experiencing.
