Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern:
I’m writing this petition letter in petition to drop PHGY 170 (Summer, 2023).
For the course PHGY 170, it is my first time registering for a summer course at Queen’s University. However, I have underestimated my free time during this summer, and the underestimated the time I needed for this course. Leading to my current situation, where I am heavily fallen behind with the course content, and multiple course assignments.
As I review my progress within the course, even if I pause with all my events and only focus on the course. It would still be very difficult for me to prepare for the finals and complete all the late assignments.
Also, as I enter my second year at Queen’sU after major selection, the course PHGY 170 does not have a strong direct relation with my newly chosen major (chemistry). I can reduce my current credits gained outside of my faculty by dropping PHGY 170, so I can sign up for other courses outside of the Art and Science Faculty in the future.
I do apologies for the late drop out over the PHGY 170 course; however, I have encountered many unforeseeable events on my side, that greatly uses my time that I have planned to spend on the course. And proven that I have made a wrong estimation of my time available for the course and have underestimated the time needed to complete the course. Those wrong decisions and estimations have led to my recent decision, writing the petition to drop PHGY 170 course.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Jennifer Zhang
