Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am writing to appeal the grade I received in the LAW 202 course. I believe that circumstances beyond my control have adversely affected my performance, and I kindly request your reconsideration of my grade.

Firstly, I have experienced discrimination and unequal treatment from my group members throughout the course. Despite taking on a leadership role and completing a significant portion of the work, my efforts were not accurately reflected in the peer reviews, leading to an unfair evaluation.

Additionally, as an online course, limited communication with you, the professor, has made it challenging to seek clarification and obtain timely feedback. This has hindered my understanding of the subject matter and impacted my overall performance.

Furthermore, I have been juggling full-time and part-time jobs throughout the summer to afford school during the academic year. Balancing these commitments has strained my time and energy, making it difficult to dedicate as much attention to the course as desired. I was unable to drop the course before the deadline due to financial constraints and the need to maintain a certain credit load for financial aid eligibility. I have only missed the deadline to drop by a few days so i was hoping an exception can be made.

I kindly request that you review my situation and reconsider my grade in the LAW 202 course. I am open to alternative evaluation methods that accurately reflect my capabilities. Thank you for your attention and understanding.
