Petition Letter: Dear Mr./Ms. I am Bohan Zhang, a freshman in computer science in the class of 2022. I received the suspension email on 23rd May, but I am extremely sorry that I just read it now because my Canadian phone card has been out of service since I went back to China on 3rd May, I can‘t receive text messages and calls, So I can‘t log in to my school account and my school mailbox. I didn‘t read this email until I fixed my phone card today. As a freshman, I didn‘t quickly adapt to the rhythm and way of university life. I always felt anxious and couldn't sleep from time to time, so my physical condition is not good. Unfortunately, during the final exams of the fall semester of 2022, I was infected with COVID-19, I had a high fever and a severe cough that prevented me from participating in my math final exams. I subsequently applied for a make-up exam but was not allowed. I did not got credit. Anxiety, Insomnia, headaches, and great physical discomfort greatly affected my next studies. So my grades were very bad in my freshman year, I am extremely sorry and regretful for that. Now I have overcome my anxiety and worry by connecting with my family and friends and travel, I have the courage and strength to face what I used to fear. I believe that past experiences make me stronger. I appreciate Queens for giving me the opportunity to continue my studies, and I would like to return to Queens University in the fall of 2023 to go on study. I really hope that the university can give me a chance to study by observing, and I have great confidence to cherish this chance. I am so sorry to communicate with you now because of my phone card problem. I don't want to give up the opportunity to study at Queen's University, I don't even want to give up myself and I will prove myself. I desperately hope that you will give me one more chance to go back to class this fall. If possible, I can change majors. I implore you to consider it.
