Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Andrew is unable to continue ECON 223 Macroeconomics policy or begin CISC 121 Introduction to Computer Science. He needs to withdraw from both of these courses due to extreme health issues.
Andrew’s rare disease, Hypophosphatemia has unfortunately returned from 4years ago. We thought he had healed but apparently was just in remission. He has been in the hospital numerous times since July 5th and it is impossible for him to do any work at this time. I can forward 2 notes we have from Sunnybrook as documentation. He is extremely lethargic and is almost completely bedridden. It is a struggle to stay at a stable state throughout the day. The phosphate medication he now takes gives him heartburn and an upset stomach, which makes it very hard to eat properly throughout the day. Unfortunately, doctors still aren’t sure what causes the issue within his body so it’s impossible to know when he will be healthy again. We hope it is sooner rather than later but as last time when this disease occurred it took a year to recover. Subsequently missing an entire year of school.
