Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to request an exception to the petition deadline for waiving the requirement to withdraw for one year. Due to extenuating circumstances that I encountered, I was unable to meet the original deadline, which was June 13th, for submitting my petition. I humbly request your understanding and consideration in this matter.
After returning to China, at the end of May, my entire family caught COVID-19. My mother and I gradually recovered after a week, while my father's condition worsened due to his concurrent lymphoma. As my mother's health was still relatively fragile, I admitted my father to the hospital for treatment on June 1st and accompanied him for care. My father was diagnosed with a severe lung infection, and his condition once became critical. Fortunately, after 46 days of treatment, his condition stabilized, and he was discharged to go home on July 17th. During this period, I was occupied with taking care of my father, leaving me with no time or energy to attend to school matters. I will attach my father's hospital records, which clearly state his medical condition, admission and discharge dates, and my relationship with him as his daughter who admitted him.
