Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To whomever this may concern,

I am writing to request Credit Standing for KNPE 251, PSYC 271, and KNPE 255, and removal of ANAT 315 from my transcript. I understand the importance of maintaining a strong academic record and I believe that these circumstances warrant special consideration, as they were truly beyond my control and had a profound impact on my academic performance.

The extenuating circumstances that I wish to discuss primarily revolve around my health during the past academic year. Two weeks prior to the start of the school year, I suffered a concussion that significantly impaired my cognitive abilities and overall well-being. The symptoms persisted throughout the academic term, making it difficult to retain information and perform at my usual level of academic standing. Consequently, this resulted in a drop in my grades for KNPE 251, PSCY 271, and KNPE 255.

Additionally, during the examination period for ANAT 315, I had suspected bronchitis. This illness resulted in me being taken to the hospital in an ambulance and I had no choice but to defer my exam in accordance with the university's procedures. Unfortunately, after deferring, the professor retired and did not respond to my emails requesting to take the exam. Despite my efforts to contact other individuals such as the head TA who could help facilitate the examination, I received no response and have yet to hear anything about it. As a result I am currently retaking ANAT 315 to ensure that receive the credits I need for my degree. However, on my transcript, it remains as an incomplete, which is contributing to the decrease in my GPA.

I want to emphasize that I took immediate steps to address these extenuating circumstances. For my concussion, I consulted with my healthcare professional who advised rest and gradual reintegration into academic activities as well as the implementation of academic accommodations. For the bronchitis-related deferment, I followed university guidelines and communicated promptly with relevant parties to try and resolve the situation.

In light of these circumstances, I am requesting that KNPE 251, PSYC 271, and KNPE 255 receive a Credit Standing and ANAT 315 be removed from my transcript. I am grateful for your understanding and consideration of my request. If there are any additional steps or information required from my end to facilitate this process, please do not hesitate to inform me.
