Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean (Academic):
I am KANG HAORUO (20258121), an APEC major student, and I have asked my ECON222 professor, Bill Dorval, to defer my ECON222 final exam this 2023winter because my passport expires on April 2, 2023, and my study visa will expire on April 2, 2023, and I have been applying to the Chinese consulate to renew my passport since last November, but the process has been very complicated because I am Tibetan. I have been applying to the Chinese Consulate to renew my passport since last November, but because I am Tibetan, the process is so complicated that I am not able to receive my new passport before the expiration of my study visa, and the date of receipt of my passport is something that no one is able to tell me about, and I am very afraid that I will not be able to get my study status renewed in time, and thus I will be illegally in Canada in violation of the Canadian law. I was told by the Chinese Consulate that my application materials would be submitted to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the public security authorities in my home country. This is a necessary process, so the Chinese Consulate advised me to cancel my passport application at the Chinese Consulate in Toronto and apply for a passport back in China if I was in a hurry to get a new passport. This resulted in me having to be back in China by April 2, which could have delayed my final exams, and I promptly contacted and held video interviews with the university's international students department, Ms. Daralyn Auld of Academic advising, and Professor ECON 222, who were very caring and for whom I am very grateful. They also knew that the Chinese government could not provide official proof of such an ethnically discriminatory policy move, so they agreed to my request to postpone my final exams, and at the suggestion of ECON 222 Prof. Bill Dorval we both agreed to postpone my final exams until 2023Fall period, so I applied to Associate Dean (Academic ) for an extension of my IN grade in ECON 222 until the 2023Fall.I will provide all the contents of my passport application, one of the emails shows that the Chinese Consulate in Toronto investigated my religious background, Tibetan Buddhist name and family background.
