Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I would like to submit an appeal to waive the 21 day rule as last year I was ill with Mono and had to write the exam at a later date. I obviously did not perform well on my exam as I ended the term with a D-. At that time, I contacted an telephone academic advisor to discuss my situation as I was given the option of dropping the course or keep it. She advised me to just keep the course, continue to re-cooperate and not to worry. So that is what I did. I did not understand at that time, how negatively my GPA would be affected. I have worked diligently to increase my GPA this year and once again contacted an academic advisor who advised me to submit this appeal. If it is possible I would like my French credit to be removed completely as this was an option when I talked to an advisor last year. This would allow me to take a different French course online during the summer. If this cannot be done, I would like my French mark to be considered for Credit Standing, as this option was not discussed with me when I called last summer. I did not know that CR was an option, and had I known I would have done this within the 21 day rule.
