Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I am writing this petition to request a late drop of STAT 263 and DEVS 250, and an extension of an IN grade for ENSC 230.
Through the winter and summer term, I was affected by a physical illness which severely impacted my ability to attend class, participate, and complete course work. This physical illness has been previously documented by my healthcare provider at Student Wellness Services. The physical illness has recently been resolved and at present time is not impacting my academics. I continue to seek regular professional support and care to ensure that this does not change.
I would like to request a late drop of STAT 263 and DEVS 250 as the physical illness affected my ability to attend class and learn the necessary content and as a direct result, I my academic performance was negatively impacted. The STAT 263 instructor (Prof. Molson) has recommended that I request a late drop and reattempt the course so that I may learn the course content without an extenuating circumstance affecting my learning and performance. I plan to do the same for DEVS 250 as well.
I would also like to request an extension of an IN grade for ENSC 230, with the support of the instructor, Dr. Geoffrey Hall. As my physical illness continued to impact my health through the summer, I was not able to complete all outstanding course work from this class within the necessary timeline. As this extenuating circumstance has now been resolved, there are no current barriers to my ability to complete the final assignment with the continued academic guidance and support of Dr. Hall. I expect to be able to complete it no later than the end of this October.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
