Petition Letter: The main reasons I am petitioning to drop this course are physical, psychological, and family struggles. I have been dealing with nerve damage in my right arm for quite a while now that has made school work very difficult throughout this semester. This affects all of my courses, however I have found the amount of reading, memorizing and sitting in general that I have to do in this course has made the pain worse. I have also dealt with psychological issues such as anxiety and depression for the majority of my life. I have seen professionals about these problems however I still struggle a lot. Up until about a month before the start of the semester, I was dealing with severe acne as well that made socializing and going outside very difficult for me, and I still feel as though I am working on feeling comfortable with myself. This has made this course particularly difficult and stressful due to work that involves meeting and working with someone that I have to find in a very large lecture hall. I have also been dealing with multiple family matters that have been impacting my mental health. Balancing all my courses this semester has been difficult for these reasons, and going into this last month of the first semester, I feel the pressure of work, especially in this course, becoming more and more taxing on my physical and mental health.
