Petition Letter: Hello,
I am seeking consideration to drop Organic Chemistry 281.
On August 28, 2023, I found out that I carry the BRCA1 gene. This is obviously disheartening news for my family and I, particularly when all females on my father's maternal side have had breast and ovarian cancer sadly, not always making it through treatment. I thought I was managing this news relatively well, with all things considered, but I was recently notified of my first appointment with the breast clinic and it is proving to be much more of a mentally overwhelming situation that I anticipated. I was also notified last week that my nanny passed away (I am willing to provide death certificate if needed). I do have appointments scheduled with a psychotherapist but the recent information I have been given is proving to be more than I am able to handle at this time.
I understand the dedication that the Organic Chemistry 281 course requires and I am struggling to manage this in addition to my mental/emotional endurance at this time. I would appreciate support in dropping this course so that I can focus on producing successful work in my remaining four courses and coming to terms with recent life changes.
Kind Regards,
Klaudia Cripps
