Petition Letter: Dear Teacher
This is Hugo Li student ID is 20238939. I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to request the opportunity to take ONLINE courses from an external institution, specifically from the Asabaska University. I believe I need to complete over 6.0 credits of coursework outside Queen's University to meet my graduation requirements.
The reason for my request is that I have been offered an internship opportunity with a company in China or Japan. I value this opportunity greatly, as I believe it will have a significant impact on my career development. I am concerned that without the option to complete the required credits externally, I may miss out on this valuable opportunity.
Furthermore, I recently experienced a high level of anxiety due to a personal tragedy. My father passed away in China due to a sudden heart attack. Unfortunately, I was unable to be with him during his final moments as we had been separated by international borders for some time. This loss is particularly difficult to bear, given our separation due to the pandemic, and it has left me emotionally and mentally distressed. I find it extremely challenging to contemplate leaving my current environment to take exams in a classroom setting.
I have been coping with these difficult circumstances with the support of friends who have been helping me with my coursework and providing emotional guidance. I am deeply grateful for their assistance, as it has been instrumental in allowing me to continue my studies during this challenging time.
I understand the importance of adhering to university course requirements, but I hope you can consider my circumstances and grant me this opportunity to plan my academic and career path effectively. I am fully committed to diligently studying online courses from [Asabaska University] to complete the necessary credits while maintaining my mental and emotional well-being. The classroom environment, given my current state, is something I find exceedingly distressing, and I believe it would hinder my academic progress.
Thank you for your understanding and consideration.
Sincerely,
Hugo Li
