Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to formally request withdrawal from the POLS 250 course without incurring academic penalties. This semester, my documented medical challenges have continued to significantly impede my ability to manage a full course load at Queen's University, and unfortunately, POLS 250 has become unfeasible to complete.
Under the guidance of Professor Colin Farrelly and discussions with my TA, it has become apparent that despite my best efforts, catching up and meeting the requirements of POLS 250 is beyond the realm of possibility. This withdrawal request is not due to poor performance but rather the realization that the course is too far advanced to bridge the gap caused by my extenuating circumstances.
In consultation with my physician, Ada Mullet, and Accessibility Advisor, Cristina Cardelus, I am actively pursuing strategies to establish a more sustainable academic plan that accommodates my health needs and ensures better support in my academic pursuits. Unfortunately, my condition significantly restricts my ability to manage the coursework effectively.
I remain deeply committed to my academic journey at Queen's University. However, I recognize the need to prioritize my health and acknowledge that the current circumstances make it unviable to continue with the demands of POLS 250.
Professor Farrelly and my TA have expressed similar concerns regarding the feasibility of catching up and successfully completing the course. I am compelled to seek withdrawal to allow for a more realistic academic trajectory in the future, where I can reengage with POLS 250 under more conducive circumstances.
