Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am putting this petition in as i believe I have been graded unfairly due to a mistake of submitting the incorrect document to the submission folder for the Proposal Draft assignment. I contacted my professor immediately after reviewing my mark for the assignment and realizing the document I submitted was not the correct one. I sent her the correct document as soon as possible through email. She said she could not take assignments through email and that she could only re-evaluate the paper I submitted originally to the submission folder. I mentioned to her that it was an accident on my part that the wrong document was submitted, but she would not accept the correct paper and just told me to basically take the zero (for an assignment that is 15% of my grade!) and improve it for the final paper. I just feel as though I was treated unfairly surrounding the marking of this assignment as it was a simple mistake that could have been easily worked around if the professor had been more lenient in how she marked this assignment. These kinds of mistakes happen all the time and I just feel very let down as I have not been able to work with my professor to get the correct document graded instead of the one I accidently submitted. i just believe the paper I meant to submit deserves to be the document that gets graded.
