Subject: Petition for Course Drop, ASTR 101

Hello

I hope this letter finds you well. My name is Rohan Mall, and I am a first-year student in the computer science program at Queen's University. I am writing to formally petition for the drop of the Astronomy course (ASTR 101) from my current semester's schedule.

I enrolled in ASTR 101 with the intention of expanding my academic horizons and developing a well-rounded skill set. Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances arose during the semester, significantly impacting my ability to perform at my usual academic level. Despite my best efforts, I have encountered challenges that were beyond my control, resulting in a grade that is not reflective of my true capabilities.

I understand the importance of maintaining a high GPA in my first year, and I am committed to ensuring that this incident does not have a lasting impact on my academic record. I am confident in my ability to excel in my remaining courses and contribute positively to the academic community at Queen's University.

I kindly request your understanding and consideration in allowing me to drop ASTR 101 without it adversely affecting my GPA. I believe that by focusing on my core courses and maintaining a strong academic performance in those areas, I can demonstrate my dedication to my studies and make up for the challenges faced in astronomy.

I sincerely appreciate your time and attention to this matter. If required, I am more than willing to discuss my situation further or provide any additional information to support my case.

Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to a favorable resolution to this matter.

Sincerely,

Rohan Mall
