Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I hope this letter finds you well. My name is Katarzyna Fraser, and I am writing to formally request a course relief for ASTR101 due to extenuating circumstances that have significantly impacted my academic performance in the course.
Recently, I have been struggling with significant personal family events in my life that were beyond my control, and directly affected my ability to perform my best academically, especially in ASTR101. I have done my best to maintain a good academic performance overall, but ASTR101 specifically has affected me the most. Maintaining a good academic standing is very important to me, and I am currently trying my very best to overcome the challenges that have hindered my performance in ASTR101. Over the past few months, my family has been dealing with deeply distressing circumstances that have taken my immediate attention. The gravity of these issues has had a profound impact on my mental health, and my ability to focus on school, specifically ASTR101. These circumstances have been very emotionally draining and time consuming, leaving me with limited ability to fully engage in the coursework, attend classes regularly, and meet the academic expectations set for the course. This has been reflected in my recent academic performance in the course, which falls below the standards I would like to maintain. In dealing with these challenges, I have been taking steps to maintain my academic performance as much as possible, including seeking counselling and focusing my attention on improving my circumstances. I would be grateful for my request to be considered, and I am committed to ensuring that my academic performance reflects my true potential.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
