Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean:

My name Weiran Xu who wish to apply an academic petition of CR Request for class CISC 124 in Fall 2023 due to the following reasons.

1: My overall GPA is 4.0 with all the higher-level coding, statistics and mathematics being with an A + average. Throughout my CISC 124 journey, I treat each assignment seriously, that I got nearly full marks in the homework and my first quiz was not too bad. Ever since the quiz 2 my grade began to change, and I did not receive response from my professor. I attend the final exam as well. I cannot figure out how my grade could change from A to C because of one final exam.

2: According to my peer, the grading of CISC 124 is depends on TA as the first grader, by any chance I can get a regrade of the final exam? The final grade on my portal is showing a “0”.

3: I am currently in the critical stage of applying for a master's degree and both my referee Professor Devon Lin and Waterloo admission has implied that a letter C+ on a fundamental coding course can seriously impact all my application negatively. I have been waiting for doing research during undergrad.


Any help or suggestion will be deeply appreciated. I cannot afford receiving a C+ in my last year.
