Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Hello, my name is Emily Simpson and I am sorry to be reaching out and causing extra work for you guys but the Chemistry department told me to come here. I always make sure that I am keeping up with my ConEd requirements for my Bio and Chem teachables so I keep up with my advisor to make sure im on track. However back on my appointment checking up for this semester on October 3rd, I made sure to double check with my advisor that from the requirements page on the queens website it says 6 units max for related courses and then 6 units max for any courses in the 100 level which meant that I only needed to take 2 more 100 level courses. She told me yes and reassured me thats all I needed to do so I unenrolled in CHEM222 and am now in HLTH230. I made another appointment that was on Monday the 22nd but it was after the deadline on the 19th and she told me no she was wrong or it was miscommunicated I need 2 more classes of 200 level CHEM courses or above. Which made me panic a bit because I need a gpa of 2.7 and wanted to leave next year as room to bring it up if I had to and not take my last required course next year if I cant get into this one. I asked if my advisor could help me and reached out to the prof as well as the Undergrad Chemistry assistant who finally pointed me here. I would really appreciate if you guys could help me and put me in CHEM222 instead of HLTH230. Please let me know if theres anything else I would need to do going forward I'll do whatever it takes.
