Petition Letter: Hi there,
I am writing as I missed the academic deadline to add and drop courses, and have become overwhelmed by the form of testing that will take place in a course in which I am currently enrolled. As a fifth year student, I am taking electives to fill in the gaps of my missing credits leading up to graduation. By missing the deadline, I have been enrolled in CSLT 103, a course which does in person testing on Friday mornings that I will not be able to attend due to my work schedule that cannot be adjusted. I am hoping it is possible to drop this course and add something different in its place (POLS 242) as it will give me the opportunity to successfully complete the six courses I need to finish this semester in order to graduate. As well, accommodating this swap will save me a significant amount of money, and as a financially independent student relying on financial aid and loans/grants, that is of the utmost importance to me at this time. Academic Plan: If this accommodation can be made, I will be able to complete my degree this summer in taking a final elective in the May/June course block. I would like to stay on track to do this, as opposed to if I have to drop this course and am not allowed a replacement, which will set me further back and mean I am required two summer courses.
