Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,

My name is Alaina Wood and I am a second year Life Sciences student. I recently took STAT 263 during the fall semester, and I have just recently received my mark back for the course. Unfortunately I did not pass the course as I expected, and will now need to retake it.
Sadly, I did not find out about my course grade until after the final enrolment date to add courses had passed. I understand that this is partially my fault for not anticipating that I may need to retake the course and adding it to my schedule, but as I mentioned it was also out of my control to an extent since I was waiting on my final grade from the fall term due to having deferred my final exam.
I am writing this letter to plead that I may still be added to the course for the winter term, since I need to complete and do well in STAT 263 as part of my degree requirements. Seeing as I have already attended all of the lessons from the previous semester, I am confident that I will be able to catch up on any missed course content.
I have spoken to Professor Molson about this regard, and he has stated that he will support my enrolment/re-taking of his course for the winter term.
Overall, I would greatly appreciate it if you accept my humble request to be added in to STAT 263 for the winter semester.
