Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Dear reader,

Hope all is well. My name is Reena Younan student number 20405353. I am currently in first year studying Psychology. Although the enrollment deadline has passed, I am writing to formally request that you give me consideration for enrollment in the class. I know how important it is to meet deadlines, but in my case, I think there are special circumstances that call for an acception. I am aware I missed the deadline to add classes but I have just gotten into a car accident less than 3 weeks ago. I was off the first week of school and I am adjusting and getting back into everything. I would appreciate you allowing me to be added to this class as I was to finish each semester with 5 credits, total 10. I am very stressed out about not having 5 credits this semester but I am well aware it was my fault. I have spoken to an academic advisor that redirected to this website to submit a petition.

I want you to know that I'm totally focused on doing well in this course. I am sure I can meet and surpass the class expectations. I will not interrupt the class and I am willing to catch up on any missing work/assignments. I want to participate in insightful conversations, work collaboratively with my peers, and add significant value to the class as a whole.

I recognize that it can be logistically difficult to add a student to a class beyond the enrollment deadline, but I respectfully ask for your cooperation and understanding in this matter. I would be happy to schedule a meeting with you or any other appropriate faculty members to go over the specifics and answer any questions you might have.
