Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: To whomever this may concern,

At the start of the winter term, I had been on the waitlist for ITLN 111 and eventually held the first spot on the waitlist, however, the deadline to add and drop courses passed and I never moved into the ITLN 111 class, and then was no longer on the waitlist. After the deadline had passed I called the arts and science department to ask if I could still switch into ITLN 111 if a free spot opened up after the deadline, and I was informed that there was in fact a free spot. Unfortunately, even though I was first on the waitlist I did not get the spot in ITLN 111 because it had a conflict with PATH 120, however, if I got into ITLN 111 I would drop PATH 120. Now it is passed the deadline so I was informed that if I still want to make this switch I should file a petition.

If it is still at all possible, I would really like to join the ITLN 111 class and drop PATH 120. As it is already rather late in the semester I understand if this is not possible.
