Petition Letter: Hi, I am writing to explain the circumstances that prevented me from dropping a winter course, prior to the deadline. The course I want to drop is CISC 101 and there has been 0 classes or work material since the drop date 4 days ago. I have been battling with major gastroenteritis and I was lying in bed experiencing constant, intense abdominal pain during the time of the drop deadline. The pain, fatigue and overall weakness I experienced from gastroenteritis lasted for over a week and on march 4th when I first started to feel better and gain energy, I had only realized then that I had missed the drop date. Despite my best efforts to manage my symptoms and drop this course, I was experiencing too much pain and fatigue to leave my bed and was unable to drop the course at anytime. The timeline for my sickness was February 27th until march 4th and my abilities and efforts were hindered for all courses. I want to assure you that I am feeling better now and am ready for all future classes, however, I believe I deserve to have this class dropped. I am not looking to get a refund at all, I just need to drop the course. I kindly request your understanding and consideration regarding the impact of my sickness on my ability to drop this course. I have provided a doctors note validating my severe case of gastroenteritis. Thank you for your attention and please get back to me as soon as possible.
