Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I am a 55 year old woman, an ODSP recipient, suffering with chronic, debilitating health conditions involving chronic pain and stamina loss, as well as immune deficiency. I have been afflicted with a serious throat infection which began on Wednesday, Feb. 29 last week, including fever and severe stamina loss. I have been bed-ridden much of the weekend and a visit to the Wellness Center today indicated the potential for a viral, rather than bacterial infection, for which I will not be receiving anti-biotic treatment, therefore. To be waylaid further without medication support will make it impossible to meet my academic tasks. I cannot continue to perform at the necessary level - I'm an A+ student to-date - to enable me to prepare for entrance to teacher college - application will be submitted next winter. This can have critical impact on my career options. It is therefore vital I be allowed to drop the course, so as to enable me to concentrate on the other two. My grades so far for FREN 342 are two A+, but I will not be able to submit the larger paper on time or within reasonable extension period accommodation times, and keep up with work for the other courses. My only option at this point is to drop this course. Please refer to the extensive itemization of my chronic health conditions - which I hope I can upload somewhere - to demonstrate the crippling impact of my conditions. Note the itemization of conditions on p. 1 [after the 2-page index], the list of debilitation symptoms noted by Dr. Forster in 2016 during my master's degree program and any other pages you wish to consult - it's a 27 page document]. Fibromyalgia and Complex Regional Pain syndrome both impact me persistently with pains and stamina loss, exacerbated by substantial chemical sensitivity and asthma. With the added throat infection I contracted a week ago, I am unable to function at the requisite level. I am, additionally, undergoing a human right's appeal against a landlord who has failed to accommodate my health needs with control of influx of second hand smoke from a neighboring apartment. This too is seriously compromising my time, energies and - with the smoke from the next-door neighbor who began living and smoking there on Jana. 12, 2024 - I am unable to complete my projected 3 courses. Please honor your duties to accommodate based on Human Right's code stipulations.
I appreciate your time and energies.
