Petition Letter: Petition of Fall Semester 2023 Grades

My name is Luke Ives, a second-year student, currently majoring in Economics at Queen's University. I am writing to formally request to petition my grades for the Fall Semester of 2023. This petition comes after a period of significant mental health challenges that severely impacted my academic performance during that time.

During the fall semester of 2023, I faced many challenges relating to my mental health, such as severe anxiety and depression. This impeded my ability to study and perform academically. Acknowledging the seriousness of my situation, I sought help and was recommended to Roger, a Mental Health Therapist here at Queen's. This step helped me regain some confidence academically. I have been doing much better this semester and am hoping to switch to a major that better fits my future.

I believe that adjusting my grades to reflect the extenuating circumstances I faced would offer a fair representation of my academic potential and the progress I've made. I am eager to continue demonstrating my commitment to my studies and my personal growth, and I appreciate your consideration of my request. I have received a letter from Roger that reciprocates what I have been writing.
