Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,

I wrote an online quiz on March 7th for CISC 204, where I had to submit all of my work in a type of file very specific to a program that we use in class. Right before the quiz finished, I tried to add all of my completed work to the file and save it, but the file somehow wasn't saved properly and I lost all of my work. I tried to redo the work, and emailed screenshots to the instructor and TA's about 40 minutes after the quiz, but the instructor responded to me saying that the files were sent much too late after the quiz ended, and they wouldn't be marking anything in the email. We are highly encouraged to take screenshots during the quiz, since these program files can be faulty and difficult, and I didn't do that, so I accept full responsibility for the outcome of this event. However, receiving a 0 on the quiz means that there is no way for me to pass this class with above a 60% which is what I need as it is a prerequisite and essential to my degree. The quiz was worth 15% of my grade.
