Dear Dr. Stephenson,
I am a third-year student currently enrolled in a BAH degree majoring in History and minoring in Geography here at Queen’s University. Since it is well past the deadline to drop courses, I am writing to you with the hopes of being able to late drop two courses I am currently taking. The courses being GPHY 207, and HIST 251.

For the last several months I have been struggling with some severe mental health issues that have altered my life and have made it extremely difficult to live and function as a normal human being. Furthermore, side-effects of the medication I was prescribed to help treat these issues only made it harder for me to function and be a successful student. As a result, my participation and performance within my courses has been negatively affected with myself missing several key assignments and participation marks. Although I have been getting assistance in some of my courses from TA’s and instructors who have been accommodating, I am concerned about my ability to succeed in the courses mentioned.

I take great pride in being a Queen’s student and I am committed to being as successful as possible while I am here. However, my current health challenges are limiting me from doing my best. Therefore, I kindly request the ability to late drop these two courses so that in the future, once my health improves, and any treatment I am undergoing has been completed, I would be able to retake these courses and achieve the best grade that I know I am capable of.

Thank you for considering my requests, I appreciate your understanding and support.

Sincerely,
Ethan Ford
