Petition Letter: Hello, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to you today to present circumstances that have impacted my ability to perform to the best of my ability in MATH112. I am asking for your kind understanding and consideration for a course withdrawal.

This semester has been really difficult for me, starting with contracting COVID-19 in January and then recently suffering a large skin infection accompanied by a fever. These health issues, along with the observance of Ramadan, have placed a strain on my physical and mental well-being. The instructional approach in MATH112 relies heavily on in-person lectures. The provided notes, primarily equations without thorough explanations, have left me spending a significant amount of time trying to understand the material on my own when I could not attend lectures due to being physically drained.

Over and above, my laptop broke down nearly a month ago, and despite efforts to repair it, I have yet to receive it back from the manufacturer. This has forced me to rely on my phone for all my work, which has made accessing and understanding concepts and completing assignments even more difficult.

I tried reaching out last month to the professor for MATH112, asking for help on how I might improve my grades in the course or make up for lower grades on past assignments. The response was to study harder for the final exam. However, given my current grade and the weight of the final, achieving a score that would significantly increase my course grade seems impossible, especially considering my current circumstances.

I am very committed to my studies, but these challenges have put me in a position where withdrawing from MATH112 appears to be the best option to maintain my academic level and mental well-being. This request is made after much thought and discussion with my course advisor, as I am fully aware of the implications, yet I believe it is necessary given the circumstances.

I deeply appreciate your time and consideration of my situation. I kindly ask for your compassionate understanding and support.
