Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am writing to request a review of my recent exam completion status due to extenuating circumstances that were beyond my control. During the scheduled exam session, I encountered unforeseen challenges that significantly impacted my ability to complete the assessment within the allotted time frame. Firstly, the third-party exam proctoring service, Examity, experienced a delay in initiating the session, resulting in a substantial loss of valuable time. Additionally, I was faced with the urgent responsibility of picking up my daughter who has a disability, which required immediate attention and prioritization. I also have a disability that requires additional time to run through software. This unfortunately could not happen.
Despite my sincere efforts to manage these unexpected circumstances and maintain focus on the exam, the combination of the delayed start and the pressing need to attend to my daughter rendered it impossible for me to complete the assessment within the stipulated timeframe.
I understand the importance of adhering to examination protocols and regulations, and I assure you that my request for review is not made lightly. However, I kindly ask for your understanding and consideration of the extenuating circumstances that impeded my performance during the exam.
