Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: Dear Dean,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to petition the removal of a course from my transcript for the Winter 2023 semester. The course in question is BCHM 270, which I took after completing my undergraduate degree in 2022.

I enrolled in BCHM 270 with the intention of fulfilling a requirement for a graduate program I was interested in applying for. However, after attending a few classes and reviewing the course material, I realized that it did not align with the requirements of the graduate program I had in mind. Unfortunately, I did not withdraw from the course before the drop deadline, leading to its inclusion on my transcript.

Since then, I have taken proactive steps to rectify this situation. I have enrolled in the correct course that fulfills the requirements for my desired graduate program. Having BCHM 270 on my transcript could potentially be misleading to future academic institutions or employers, as it does not accurately reflect my academic pursuits or capabilities. Therefore, I kindly request that BCHM 270 be removed from my transcript to rectify this error.

I understand that transcript amendments are not typically granted without valid reasons, and I assure you that my request is made in earnest. I am more than willing to provide any additional documentation or information that may be required to support my petition.
